Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine

 Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health care that considers all aspects and systems of the body. It is a form of complementary or alternative medicine employing a wide array of holistic treatments aiming to deal with the causes of disease and imbalance within the body and mind.

Herbal medicine is also known as ‘plant medicine’ and is the therapeutic and practical use of plant preparations to heal the symptoms and causes of disease.  Herbs are administered in dried tea, tincture, or supplement/capsule form.

Shanti’s Services

Shanti is a certified Naturopath, Master Iridologist, Reflexologist, Master Herbalist, and Professional Colon Hydrotherapist. In Nelson, Shanti offers everything except Colonics.

Every individual person is unique and treated as such. While gathering information in a detailed case history, the body’s constitution and genetic predispositions are explored using Iridology to determine what a person needs to regain balance, harmony, and vitality.

Functional testing can be used to find out more about food intolerances, gut microbiome imbalances, heavy metal toxicities, parasite overload, or hormonal imbalances.

Herbs, essential oils, flower essences, supplements, complementary therapies, and other naturopathic treatments are recommended, as well as healing diets, live and fermented foods, nutrition, and herbal formulas to balance the constitution and support specific body systems and organs.

Shanti is most passionate about gut health as the foundation for all our body’s systems.  There are many similarities between nature and the human body. The gut can be compared to the roots and soil of a tree.  Your tree can only be as healthy as your roots and soil.  By healing gut imbalances and repairing the microbiome, we can overcome a myriad of health challenges.

She has designed an 8-week course to repair, heal, and reset the gut microbiome.
